DIDN’T MEAN TO HUSTLE – Release Show with The Colin Trio and Ben Rice & The PDX Hustle

Thursday, November 07
Doors: 7pm Show: 8pm
We are proud to share with you a collaboration of two of Portland’s hardest working bands The Colin Trio and Ben Rice and the PDX Hustle. These bands are joining forces in celebration of the newest album release Didn’t Mean To from the Colin Trio. Get ready for an evening of genre bending music from soul, jazz, and blues to funk and rock.
The Colin Trio, led by the fierce composer, musician, producer and yogi Colin Hogan, will take you on a musical adventure that defies genre or definition. Together with Cheo Larcombe on percussion and Brian Link on bass, the Trio will leave you wondering, “how is that just three people?” and, “what possible turn could come next?” Experience songs of joy, suffering, love, acceptance, anger and forgiveness, heartfully delivered by a band that achieves a tightness that only comes from thousands of hours of sharing the stage together.
Come see what happens when one of Portland’s go-to backing bands is left to their own devices.

Ben Rice and the PDX Hustle deliver an electric performance that will have you on your feet from the first rumble of the organ to the final sting of the night. Muddy Award winning and International Blues Challenge awardee, Ben Rice takes entertainment and showmanship to the next level with his six piece horn band composed of the best musical talent Portland has to offer. The personnel includes Ben Rice on Guitar and vocals, Pat MacDougall on keys, organ, and background vocals, John Wolcott on Bass and background vocals, Pete Petersen on Sax, John Dover on Trumpet, and Adam Carlson on drums. Ben Rice’s song crafting will have the audience on their feet, compelled to dance with its high octane delivery. Then be prepared for the raw emotion evoked by his heartfelt ballads. Get ready for the sonic roller coaster that is Ben Rice and the PDX Hustle!
