Fly Through Time with Leapin’ Louie Lichtenstein – A Cowboy Circus About Animals Who Fly

Leapin’ Louie Lichtenstein uses circus, cowboy tricks, a six foot unicycle, and lots of comedy to explore all those wild critters, including us, who fly. In 400 million years five amazing groups of animals developed flight: Insects, pterosaurs, birds, bats and finally —humans.  Only 66 years after the Wright Brothers invented the airplane, —we landed on the moon.   We’re moving so fast! Can we leave enough room for our amazing wild ecosystems as we jet into the future? You’ve seen him flinging rope, whips and craziness at the White Album Christmas.  Leapin’ Louie is a master of physical comedy, trick roping, whip cracking, and juggling. He has performed  one-person Leapin’ Louie shows in 35 different countries around the world, including many tours in Europe, Japan, and Australia.   Leapin’ Louie has decided to turn his comedy and cowboy circus skills towards the celebration of the wild diversity of animals on this beautiful planet.  It’s weird and fun. https://comedytricks.comWatch a video from Flying Through Time:https://youtu.be/1mthxBWe6yM?si=y_JOeVMagLJmS9tA    “Lichtenstein, a multi-talented performer, has to be seen to be believed.”–The Oregonian “‘Awesome’ is a terrible word, but there’s no shame using it – in the truest sense – to describe Leapin’ Louie”  Broadway Baby  â˜† ☆ ☆ ☆ (Edinburgh Fringe Festival)  “it’s the Wild West lasso-wielding clown Leapin’ Louie Lichtenstein who’s going to make the $20 price tag well worth your time. The man is freaking amazing. The crowd lost it after every one of his acts—from the 20-foot diameter lasso he swung overhead while riding a super-tall unicycle, to the bull whip he cracked at the front row’s faces.”  –Portland Mercury Tickets:$10 Children 17 & Under$18 Adult Minors ok when accompanied by a parent or guardianReview our Health & Safety Policies HERE

Ruthie Foster with special guest Jeff Plankenhorn

Ruthie brings her band along this time and will rock the Rose!Ruthie Foster is a four-time Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter who mixes a wide palette of American song forms, from gospel and blues to jazz, folk and soul. Described by Rolling Stone as “pure magic to watch and hear,” her vocal talent was elevated in worship services at her community church. Drawing influence from legendary acts like Mavis Staples and Aretha Franklin, Foster developed a unique sound unable to be contained within a single genre. That uniqueness echoes a common theme in Ruthie’s life and career – marching to the beat of her own drum.Healing Time is the latest jewel in Foster’s accomplished career, which includes multiple Grammy nominations and collaborations with fellow luminaries like Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks. For her latest, Foster contributed more to the writing process than she had on any of her previous albums, effectively refining her own song craft in the process. “With this album, I dug deep and tried to go for the best way to write,” she explains. “This album says a lot about the period we were making it in, and how I wanted to find my way out of it.”Ruthie Foster’s ninth studio album represents a new high water mark for the veteran blues artist—a collection of songs possessing pure power, like a tidal wave of musical generosity. Healing Time finds Foster pushing her boundaries as a singer and songwriter more than ever before, creating a truly live-sounding atmosphere with the help of her band, who sound refreshingly loose and lived-in throughout these 12 songs. We’ve all been in need of some healing in recent times, and Foster’s latest provides a guide for how to move through the world with equal parts compassion and resolve.Alberta Rose fave Jeff Plankenhorn opens the show.$39 Advance$49 At the Door$59 Preferred Seating (seating in the first 7 rows of the center section)Minors ok when accompanied by a parent or guardian.
