A Grain of Sand, Revisited
Presented by Resonance Ensemble
Close the season with A Grain of Sand, Revisited, a powerful exploration of Asian American activism, solidarity, and identity through music and storytelling. In collaboration with A Thousand Tongues, this concert blends the seminal 1973 protest album A Grain of Sand with new choral works by contemporary Asian and Asian American composers, including Shruthi Rajasekar, Tracy Wong, and Saunder Choi.
Co-curated and conducted by Paolo Debuque, Adrianna Tam, and Resonance Associate Conductor Shohei Kobayashi, the program connects past and present, tracing the roots of the term “Asian American” and the enduring lessons of the movement.
