The Family Preservation Project strengthens families and communities by assisting incarcerated women and promoting the rights of children of incarcerated parents.
In 2026, the Family Preservation Project‘s Annual Day of Empathy continues its ongoing work of radical re-imagining. This year, we are thrilled to invite you into a thoughtful discussion between the directly impacted leaders who comprise the Family Preservation Project’s Youth Advisory Council and Chesa Boudin.
Nike Green is joining us to guide us through the evening. Nike is the Founder and Executive Director of Triple Threat Mentoring PDX, and she uses lived experience, faith, and clinical expertise to help individuals and communities heal, grow, and reach their fullest potential.
Chesa Boudin is the former District Attorney of San Francisco and is the founding executive director of Berkeley’s Criminal Law & Justice Center. Chesa is the subject of the film Beyond Bars, a film project from Brave New Films.
The evening will also include documentary filmmaker Brian Lindstrom’s short film “Like a Shield”, with opening remarks by Brian; followed by a re-imagining of a more beautiful path forward.
Guest musicians from the Lullaby Project, will perform lullabies written by incarcerated mothers at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility for their children.
Tickets are available on a sliding scale and all proceeds support the Family Preservation Project. If you can’t attend the event and would like to support FPP, you can donate HERE.
