3 LEG TORSO PRESENTS The Elvises of Frostländ

3 LEG TORSO PRESENTS The Elvises of Frostländ with Special Guests: Pepe Raphael Jet Black Pearl The Amazing Bubble Man Chervonaand The Next Generation During the historic pandemic of 2020, the members of 3 Leg Torso were recruited by a large, mysterious man to travel to Frostländ and become elves in his toy workshop, which actually turned out to be a small cabin in the woods with no heat, frozen water pipes, and a tiny room full of tools which quickly became obsolete for making toys…because they were frozen solid to the benches! Steadily, the newly appointed elves survived the chilling darkness and crippling mental depression by playing their various musical instruments they were allowed to bring on their journey, and with this, they discovered that their music somehow magically heated their icy cabin. Towards the end of the toy-building season, the Elves happily wrapped up their duties at the workshop, ready to depart for home, but just as they were leaving, a freak ice storm stranded them for another season. As they experience yet another wave of dread and hopelessness during this period of frozen isolation, random visitors arrive at the cabin, bringing supplies and spreading joy – and much of this joy is spread through the sharing of music. Ticket prices Angel of the Arts $50 Angels of the Arts unconditionally support the arts and artists. Thanks for making the community a better place. Includes Preferred Seating in the first 7 rows of the center section General Admission $35 Youth (12 & Under) $20 Minors ok when accompanied by a parent or guardianReview our Health & Safety Policies HERE

Seffarine – A Fundraiser for Moroccan Earthquake Relief

In the wake of the devastating earthquake in Morocco, Seffarine has decided to make this concert a benefit for the ongoing relief efforts. All funds we raise will go to the Marrakech based AMAL non-profit which has been providing essential aid to affected communities. Many of these villages were inaccessible by road after the quake and Amal is committed to long term recovery efforts by providing meals, clothing, blankets, tents and solar lights. Aside from the earthquake relief, Amal has been doing great work for years as a women’s training center, supporting courageous women on their journey towards empowerment and financial independence. Optional QR codes and envelope donations and more info about Amal will be available at the concert, or you can choose to donate when you buy your tickets to the concert. “Seffarine’s music can melt the coldest hearts”-Chicago Reader At a momentous first meeting at a coffee shop in Fes, Moroccan vocalist Lamiae Naki and multi-instrumentalist Nat Hulskamp composed their first song and decided to get married. Brought together by their deep knowledge of the music of both sides of the Straits of Gibraltar — Spanish flamenco and Moroccan Arabic music — they created Seffarine. Seffarine takes its name from the ancient metalworking square in Fes, which is famous for the complex rhythms that ring out from the blacksmiths’ hammers, and where Lamiae’s family is well known as masters of the tradition. Seffarine’s music embraces and extends Morocco’s musical collision between Arabic, Iberian and West African cultures, forging vibrant original music deeply rooted in their backgrounds in flamenco guitar, oud and Arab-Andalusian music. Nat and Lamiae built an international quintet bringing in all star musicians from Iran, the US and Spain, who infuse the sound with textured instrumentation and inspired improvisation. Tamikrest • Bikini Drone

Tamikrest in tamasheq language means junction, connection, knot, coalition. The group members come from different horizons (Mali, Niger, Algeria and France). Wanting to assume fully their Touareg identity, they found in the rebel music Ishumar the means to express it. “A desert hosts us, a language unites us, a culture binds us.” The story begins at Kidal, capital of the eighth Region of Mali, while making tea of course. Pino, Cheikh and Mossa had just finished a guitar workshop with Juhan Ecaré (guitarist for Meiway) when they decided to form a group with only two old ‘home made’ guitars. And they got to work… “Even though we are young, guitars still have six cords!” After one year and a half of hard work, the group is complete and their repertory has grown to contain more than twenty-five original compositions. Though their music takes root in Ishumar Rock or Tuareg Blues, it borrows from various international influences as well as from neighbouring cultures. Through the message of their songs, Tamikrest want to make Tamasheq poetry and culture accessible to inhabitants of a world larger than the immensity of the Saharian desert.Local indie-euro-disco band Bikini Drone opens the show.
