Tracy Grammer

Tracy Grammer is one of the most beloved acts in contemporary folk music. Called “one of the finest pure musicians anywhere in folkdom,” (Boston Globe), she has performed on coffeehouse, theater, and festival stages since 1997, and has been a guest on Mountain Stage, World Cafe, River City Folk, SiriusXM Radio, and Folk Alley. With pristine fingerstyle guitar, percussive strums, dynamic vocals, and incantatory narratives, Tracy delivers a polished, personal show notable for its melodies, heart-forward content, and engaging, authentic delivery. It’s often the case at the end of the show that audiences can’t decide which moved them more — the songs, or the stories behind them. Tracy’s journey in music has been marked by both tragedy and triumph. In 2002, then-duo partner and songwriter Dave Carter died suddenly while on tour. Dave Carter & Tracy Grammer, heralded as “the new voice of folk music” by the Associated Press, was riding high on the success of their third album, DRUM HAT BUDDHA, and had just finished a five-week bus tour with Joan Baez as featured artists and Baez’s band mates. Tracy’s determination and grace in the wake of unfathomable loss, and her transparency as she gained her footing as a solo artist, have earned her a devoted, lifelong following, who see her concerts as nothing less than a celebration of courage, bravery, vulnerability, and love. As one fan puts it, “With Tracy, it’s not just about the music — it’s a soul journey.”The Alberta Rose is Tracy’s Portland home. Howie Day
Howie Day’s emotionally resonant lyrics and inventive melodies have earned him both critical praise and a legion of devoted fans. He is known for his energetic, heartfelt shows, where he connects with audiences through the strength of his songwriting and his quirky sense of humor. Day’s warm tenor voice “soars into fluttering, high registers, but also grates with real, pleading grit,” as one critic put it. A native of Bangor, Maine, Day began playing piano at age five and guitar at age 12. By 15, he was writing his own songs and performing across New England. Shortly after graduating high school, Day became a fixture at college coffeehouses across the U.S. He wrote, financed and released his first effort, Australia, which was named Best Debut Album at the 2001 Boston Music Awards. Day began experimenting with effects pedals and loop-sampling techniques as he performed, layering live percussion with vocal harmonies and guitar parts to become a veritable one-man band. He went on to sell over 30,000 copies of Australia as he navigated the independent music scene and continued to hone his craft. After signing with Epic Records, Day released his major-label debut, Stop All The World Now, and hit the road to support it. Since the release of this ground breaking album 20 years ago, featuring 4x platinum single “Collide”, Howie Day continues to astound audiences with his everlasting music. Two additional studio albums (Sound The Alarm, Lanterns) and his incredible live show will no doubt cultivate life changing and poignant moments for people around the world for many years to come. Howie is the highest-grossing musical artist to emerge from the great state of Maine! Tickets:$30 Advance$35 At the Door Minors ok with parent/guardianReview our venue FAQ here

Tyrone Wells

URGENT UPDATE- DOORS ARE NOW SET TO OPEN AT 7:30PM. First things first. Let’s get this out-of-the-way. Tyrone Wells (I) wrote this bio. I figured, “who better to talk about myself than myself?”. I’m a lot of things in no particular order… a preacher’s son, a brother, a husband, a dad, a real estate lover, a major-label artist, an independent artist, an opener, a headliner, a very self-conscious dancer (think “Footloose”, only without the cathartic cutting loose), a gardener, a wanna be surfer, a person who has needed therapy, a pickleball player, a barstool theologian, and this next one kind of goes without saying because you’re here reading my bio.. I’m a singer-songwriter. I’ve written a lot of songs. Probably approaching around 1,000 songs now… to me, when I wrote them, they were all good songs. The luxury of time has informed me, some of the songs were maybe just good to me. And some of the songs, inexplicably, have millions upon millions of listeners. Meanwhile, others have tens upon tens. I don’t know why, I just write them and set them free. Ultimately, I’m trying my best to be honest, and write a song that I, and you can both love. I’m gonna keep trying. I’m so grateful that you have listened. Be it once, or be it a hundred times. I’ve got big love for you. I’ll be over here chopping away and reminding myself to be vulnerable. Peace and Love, XOXO Tyrone Tickets: $25 Advance$30 At the Door Minors ok when accompanied by a parent or guardian. Review our Health & Safety Policies HERE
