RESURRECTION: A Benefit for The Steep and Thorny Way to Heaven
This Easter Sunday, help us repair and rehome legendary inner southeast industrial performance and rehearsal venue, The Steep and Thorny Way to Heaven! Join some of Portland’s best alternative performing artists as we throw one heck of a party to help raise the funds it will take to fully “resurrect” this beloved Portland institution. Featuring mini sets from The Steep and Thorny Way to Heaven’s signature monthly events Oddville: A New Vaudevillian Tradition and their haunted music series SEANCE, as well as performances from alumni performers such as Jacki Ward (Cirque Du Soleil), Lacy Knightly (Booklover’s Burlesque), The PDX Broadsides, immersive theater company Speculative Drama, and more! Celebrating the broad spectrum of performance disciplines and artistic excellence that has graced the Steep and Thorny stage for the last 12 years, this is a night not to be missed! PHAME’s Winter Concert
Join us for a PHAME tradition—a fantastic evening of winter-themed music and performance from all of PHAME’s performance ensembles, as well as soloists and small groups. This year we’ll also be presenting poetry and visual art, and puppets! This event will be held live at Alberta Rose Theatre, and will also be livestreamed. So wherever you are, you can celebrate the winter season with PHAME! Pay What You Can: $20, $15, or $5. Tickets are available online now or at the door starting at 6 PM on the day of the event. Anyone purchasing tickets online will receive the Livestream link in their emailed receipt. Oregon Trail Card holders can choose the $5 option and do not need to show their card. Click HERE to Get Tickets Proof of full vaccination for COVID-19 (including one booster, if eligible) is required at the door. Masks are highly encouraged when not eating or drinking. Age restriction This event is all ages, however anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Accessibility The Alberta Rose Theater is wheelchair accessible, with wheelchair-accessible seating and restrooms. When purchasing tickets online there is a space to indicate how many people in your party use wheelchairs. We will contact you to let you know where to find your reserved seat. A quieter alcove is available for guests needing to take a break. This event will include moderate to loud music and other sounds. We will have an ASL interpreter at the event, and they will also appear on screen on the Livestream. Patrons who need to vocalize or move around are welcome, and patrons are welcome to leave and return to the theater as necessary. This show will transport you to an evening of zany homespun nonsense as it showcases both local talent and touring acts from all over the state. While Pride Month is officially in June, we all know that true pride never ends! Join us on July 9th as we celebrate the multi-faceted queer experience with “Afterglow: A Post-Pride Extravaganza”. This show will feature art, film, live music, burlesque, comedy, and drag performances from some of Portland’s most celebrated LGBTQIA+ artists. Highlights include: The world premiere of “Gay Kids”, the new music video from Renée Muzquiz A burlesque performance by Dahlia Kash, the creator and producer of Melange PDX Portland drag icon Jayla Rose Sullivan, star of “Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls” on Amazon Prime Come bathe in the welcoming light of “Afterglow”!
