Nearly Dan

The demands of the music of Steely Dan are high, both in technical proficiency and in preserving the sarcastic, knowing attitude originally conceived. Nearly Dan excels on both fronts, fusing together the chops of 12 diversely-talented artists (with backgrounds in jazz, rock, R&B, country, and swing) into a veritable butcher’s shop window of precisely cut bass lines; surgical, highly reminiscent guitar solos; a biting yet sophisticated horn section and richly marbled beats. Nearly Dan coolly presents their own arrangements of those masterpiece compositions such as the bouncing “Reelin’ In the Years,” the sorrowful, karmic circularity of “Do It Again,” or the funny but mortified “Peg.”  Satiate your hunger for music with depth when Nearly Dan takes the stage.   The 12 members of Nearly Dan have shared the stage with celebrities of world renown, such as Stevie Wonder, Sammy Davis Jr., Ray Charles, Lou Rawls, the Four Tops, the Temptations, Smokey Robinson, Johnny Mathis, Olivia Newton John, Huey Lewis, Tower Of Power, Tito Puente, Natalie Cole and Gladys Knight. “You are AMAZING!!!  My mouth hurt from smiling so much throughout your entire show!!”  – Francine T. “I was BLOWN AWAY.   I was amazed a band could capture Steely Dan’s smooth energy and sound so flawlessly.  I found myself thinking after listening to Home at Last and a few other songs, “whoever manages these arrangements has to be a perfectionist”….  – Rachel J. “Saw your show last night and was absolutely blown away!! Not only the extraordinary musicianship but the interaction among the band members and the crowd was just flat out remarkable.”  ….  – TL McD. “Absolutely stunning. Y’all cover the songs, but you are not a cover band. True to the original, but with a fresh twist.” …. – Boyd and Lara J. “Great show by Nearly Dan tonight!  It’s not every band that will bring tears to your eyes because of how good they are.”…. – April W.    Tickets: $30 Advance$40 At the DoorMinors ok when accompanied by a parent or guardian. Ser.Rana – A Flamenco Performance by Sonia Franco

Ser.Rana is a foreteller. It is an experience that transforms the art of movement and sets dance free. It is like a body of water which cannot be contained, like an unceasing continuous flow of a river that is inside you and transforms your body through flamenco while you traverse impossible scenarios, which, akin to frogs, lose themselves when they are outside their pond.   Presented by Spain Flamenco Arts, FECACE, and Espacio Flamenco Portland. Sonia Franco- Director, Choreographer and DancerAlejandro Peralta – GuitaristRosa Linero – SingerCristina Soler – SingerEl Pepi – PercussionistBegoña Fernández Pellicer – Production “For Sonia Franco, dance is not merely the act of movement, it is the ability to speak and communicate through that movement. Ottmar Liebert and Luna Negra

Ottmar Liebert’s global success can be attributed to a myriad of things – his creative vision, his determination, and a strong sense of melody. Born in Cologne, Germany, he began playing guitar at 11. Before the age of 19, Liebert had intended to stay in Germany and pursue a career as a designer and photographer. However, while journeying extensively through Asia and playing with other travelers and local musicians, he realised that he could not escape a life of music.   After pursuing his dreams of playing rock music in Boston, he settled in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Santa Fe was a fresh start for Liebert in many ways and in addition to returning to the acoustic guitar, he remained open to letting the place define the music he made. It was this openness to the local landscape that defined what was to become his musical style, a mix of Spanish, Mexican and World elements, strong melodies tinged with a shade of melancholy, balanced with upbeat rhythms.   Liebert founded the first incarnation of his band, Luna Negra, in 1989. His debut album began as a self-produced release called Marita: Shadows and Storms, copies of which local Native American artist, Frank Howell, distributed in his art galleries. After the record made its way to radio stations, it began generating a buzz among programmers and received unprecedented response among listeners. Higher Octave Music picked it up and released a fully remastered version, Nouveau Flamenco. Recorded for less than $3,000 on an old analog machine in a shack beside a gravel pit, this CD became an international sensation, establishing Liebert’s unique border-style flamenco, and becoming the best-selling instrumental acoustic guitar album of all time   TICKETS:$35 GA Advance $45 GA At the Door $49 Preferred Seating (seating in the first 8 rows of the center section)    Minors ok when accompanied by a parent or guardian 21+  Review our venue FAQ here

Loudon Wainwright III

Loudon Wainwright III began 2025 with the January release of the new album “Loudon Live in London” which was recorded during a 3-night residency at Nell’s Jazz and Blues club in 2024.  Then in February, he was a special guest on the UK’s prestigious “Transatlantic Sessions” tour – the highly acclaimed concert series which for the last 30 years has explored and celebrated the rich musical traditions that connect Scotland, Ireland and the U.S.   Born in Chapel Hill, N.C. in 1946, Loudon Wainwright III came to fame when “Dead Skunk” became a Top 20 hit in 1972.  He had studied acting at Carnegie-Mellon University but dropped out to partake in the Summer of Love in San Francisco and wrote his first song in 1968.  Loudon was signed to Atlantic Records by Nesuhi Ertegun, and after that was lured by Clive Davis to Columbia Records, which released “Dead Skunk.”  His songs have since been recorded by the likes of Bonnie Raitt, Johnny Cash, Earl Scruggs, Kate & Anna McGarrigle, his son Rufus Wainwright, and Mose Allison among others.     An accomplished actor, he has appeared in films directed by Martin Scorsese, Hal Ashby, Christopher Guest, Tim Burton, Cameron Crowe, and Judd Apatow.  Wainwright has also starred on TV in “M.A.S.H.” and “Undeclared”, and on Broadway in “Pump Boys and Dinettes”.    TICKETS:$35 GA Advance $45 GA At the Door $55 Preferred Seating (seating in the first 7 rows of the center section)    Minors ok with parent or guardian Review our venue FAQ here

JigJam with special guest Spencer LaJoye

When virtuoso Irish playing jumps the pond running naked through the wide open fields of bluegrass/Americana JigJam is born. Bluegrass and American Folk music originated from the group’s home, and now JigJam is here to take it back!   JigJam made its Grand Ole Opry Debut in Nashville in March 2023 to critical acclaim receiving a standing ovation from a sold-out crowd on Country Music’s biggest stage. The group was joined on the night by Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, Steve Earle, Lauren Alaina, and many more. This Offaly and Tipperary-born band has started the first wave of attack in the new Irish invasion of Americana.   ‘Foot stomping’, ‘high energy’ badassery is what you’re in for when you see this musical powerhouse live in concert.   Founding members from Offaly Jamie McKeogh (Lead singer and guitar) and Daithi Melia (5 String Banjo and Dobro) were joined by Tipperary-born Gavin Strappe (Mandolin and Tenor Banjo) in 2016. This year they are joined by Kevin Buckley (Fiddle) to make up this iGrass (Irish Bluegrass) quartet.   Described as ‘The best Irish band in bluegrass’ and ‘sparkling, infectious’ these lads have been hailed as ‘Ireland’s answer to New Grass Revival’   Bluegrass has its roots in Irish music and Irish immigration. iGrass and JigJam is what happens when the Irish find their prodigal son.   Rising folk star Spencer LaJoye opens the show.   Tickets:$25 Advance$30 At the Door Minors ok with parent/guardianReview our venue FAQ here

David Wilcox with special guest Jim Brunberg

David Wilcox is a revered folk musician with an effortless talent for spinning lyrics that quietly cut deep, crafting melodies that seamlessly ride the plot twists and turns. He observes the human condition from both the nerve center and the outside looking in. That kind of storytelling is certain to become a good friend.  “For any singer-songwriter to be able to muster passion, hope and grace after 15 years in the unsung folk genre is an accomplishment, and as such, David Wilcox is infinitely accomplished.” — Paste Magazine “Factor in a strong acoustic guitar technique that eschews simplistic strumming in favor of expressive finger-picking, and a pleasant voice that sounds like a more insistent, fuller bodied James Taylor, and you have a solid solo-acoustic performer who will make his way even if he doesn’t serve ear candy.” — Los Angeles Times“The concert was an incredibly cleansing experience. Songs with passionate, beautiful lyrics sung in a soulful voice, backed by crisp acoustic guitar arrangements that took me on an emotional roller-coaster ride (I know, kind of sounds like a wine steward describing a fine Burgundy, right?)” — Kevin Nealon in Spin Magazine   Jim Brunberg opens the show with a set of his folk/Americana songs that will knock you out.  Jim’s many projects include the fabulous duos Box Set and Wonderly.
