He’s built a brick-and-mortar international touring career on multiple studio albums, countless miles, and general critical acclaim, being lauded for “Stark, literate songs that are as wide open as the landscape of his native Midwest” (The New Yorker), and described as “Quietly brilliant” (The Irish Times), while catching the ear of everyone from Van Dyke Parks to Greil Marcus, to Don Henley, who regularly covers Foucault in his live set.Erik Koskinen, who plays in Jeffrey Foucault’s band, opens the show with a set of his own tunes.Tickets: $25 Advance$30 Day of ShowMinors ok when accompanied by a parent or guardian. Tracy Grammer
Tracy Grammer is one of the most beloved acts in contemporary folk music. Called “one of the finest pure musicians anywhere in folkdom,” (Boston Globe), she has performed on coffeehouse, theater, and festival stages since 1997, and has been a guest on Mountain Stage, World Cafe, River City Folk, SiriusXM Radio, and Folk Alley. With pristine fingerstyle guitar, percussive strums, dynamic vocals, and incantatory narratives, Tracy delivers a polished, personal show notable for its melodies, heart-forward content, and engaging, authentic delivery. It’s often the case at the end of the show that audiences can’t decide which moved them more — the songs, or the stories behind them. Tracy’s journey in music has been marked by both tragedy and triumph. In 2002, then-duo partner and songwriter Dave Carter died suddenly while on tour. Dave Carter & Tracy Grammer, heralded as “the new voice of folk music” by the Associated Press, was riding high on the success of their third album, DRUM HAT BUDDHA, and had just finished a five-week bus tour with Joan Baez as featured artists and Baez’s band mates. Tracy’s determination and grace in the wake of unfathomable loss, and her transparency as she gained her footing as a solo artist, have earned her a devoted, lifelong following, who see her concerts as nothing less than a celebration of courage, bravery, vulnerability, and love. As one fan puts it, “With Tracy, it’s not just about the music — it’s a soul journey.”In addition to performing internationally, Tracy has judged Kerrville New Folk, served as a Folk Alliance panelist and mentor, led songwriting workshops, hosted the Dave Carter Memorial Writer’s Round-up for eight years, taught choral music at private high schools in Massachusetts, and delivered the keynote at Cape May Singer-Songwriter Weekend. She has toured as bandmate and opening act for Joan Baez, performed with Hugh Masekela and Odetta as part of New York State’s Songs of the Spirit Tour, and recorded with Mary Chapin Carpenter. She is the only performer invited to play the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival 13 years in a row and promoters everywhere agree: the photos don’t do her justice.Tracy returns to perform in Portland for the first time in years. Don’t miss it!Tickets:$25 Advance$30 At the Door Minors ok with parent/guardianReview our Health & Safety Policies HERE
Kimo Camat presents Kiki’s Delivery Service of Sexy Sweaty Summer Lovin’
“Let me sit this ass on ya…” Kiki’s Delivery Service of Sexy Sweaty Summer Lovin’, curated by local actor/singer Kimo Camat, is an electrifying concert that promises to be a transformative celebration of intimacy, self-discovery, and the profound connections we share with those we love and with those we invite into our beds. This hot end of summer concert invites the audience to embark on a voyage of personal awakening, encouraging us to feel at home in our bodies and embrace the sensuality that lies within through music and some spoken word. Fusing Funk, Neo Soul, and a dash of Musical Theatre, KIKI will take you to sonic heights with soulful covers as well as premiering their own original pieces. Serving as somewhat of a “Part Two” to their February show, Kiki’s Delivery Service of Love Songs & Heartbreak, this concert delves into the myriad ways we connect with one another, highlighting the beauty and complexity of our bumbling beautifully built bodies. These tales of intimacy and passion are told with a raw honesty that is both moving and hilarious, celebrating the liberating magic that happens when we open our hearts, souls, and holes to others. Kiki’s Delivery Service of Sexy Sweaty Summer Lovin’ is a celebration of sexual awakenings and self love. It invites us to let go of our inhibitions, to dance with abandon, and to revel in the beauty of our own bodies and throw caution to the wind. Whether he’s sweating onstage at the mic, dishonoring his family on his knees at Blowpony, or platonically flirting with everyone he meets, KIKI has learned to embrace and confess his love to every swerve and curve on his body. Kimo Camat has had the privilege to spend the last 16 years creating art on stage and has found solace in singing and performing. His band includes Mak Kastelic (piano), Joseph Mammarella (guitar), Juliet Terrill (bass), Paul Van Sickle (drums), Peter QB (saxophone), Christina Avellan Mantilla / Madeleine Tran / Xander Dean (backing vocals).
