Tuck & Patti with special guest Adlai Alexander

For over 44 years, this unique, genre-crossing vocal/guitar duo has cast its passionate musical spell worldwide, capturing the hearts of lovers, the respect of jazz buffs and the jaw-dropping awe of guitarists and singers.  Their recording career took off with 1988’s groundbreaking Tears of Joy.  Now, 13 albums later, they have toured the world incessantly as a duo, appearing at times alongside Miles Davis, Count Basie, George Benson, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock and many others.  They have long been regarded by musicians and critics as the standard for an improvising musical duo.  Their music spans Duke Ellington, the Beatles and Jimi Hendrix–rock, pop, jazz, gospel, blues, folk, world and classical–classics and originals, but inevitably finally just sounds like Tuck & Patti.  Transcending categorization, Tuck & Patti are known for individual virtuosity in service of the greater goal of expressing love, hope and gratitude through their musical collaboration. To understand Tuck & Patti, start with the wellspring of love within them, then their music begins to make perfect sense. Married 41 years, Tuck Andress and Patti Cathcart continue to stoke the fires, not only of their own love, but also of their love of life and their passion for making music together. They have a long-standing tradition: Minimalist arrangements featuring Tuck’s extraordinary virtuosity and Patti’s rich mezzo soprano.  Renowned for her remarkable ability to touch hearts directly with her voice, Patti is also the writer, arranger and producer. Without even blinking, Tuck-the-problem-solver brags, “Patti writes and arranges; I am just the orchestra.” Tuck and Patti have achieved a rare symbiotic musical relationship that sends critics scrambling for a reference point.  They have been compared to every legendary duo you can imagine—from Fred & Ginger to the late Leonard Feather’s ringing “Not since Ella Fitzgerald met Joe Pass on stage has there been so felicitious a mating as Tuck & Patti.” When they’re not touring or recording, they teach as well as produce, record and mix other artists in their studio near San Francisco, part of their mission to use their expertise to help others realize their own dreams.  We feel that they express in music, the spirit, which is the energy behind The Alberta Rose Theatre.Featuring Special Guest: Adlai Alexander$25 GA Advance$35 GA At the Door$40 Preferred Seating (first 7 rows of the center section – available in advance only) —— Minors ok when accompanied by a parent or guardian. David Wilcox with special guest Jean Rohe

David Wilcox is a revered folk musician with an effortless talent for spinning lyrics that quietly cut deep, crafting melodies that seamlessly ride the plot twists and turns. He observes the human condition from both the nerve center and the outside looking in. That kind of storytelling is certain to become a good friend.  “For any singer-songwriter to be able to muster passion, hope and grace after 15 years in the unsung folk genre is an accomplishment, and as such, David Wilcox is infinitely accomplished.” — Paste Magazine “Factor in a strong acoustic guitar technique that eschews simplistic strumming in favor of expressive finger-picking, and a pleasant voice that sounds like a more insistent, fuller bodied James Taylor, and you have a solid solo-acoustic performer who will make his way even if he doesn’t serve ear candy.” — Los Angeles Times“The concert was an incredibly cleansing experience. Songs with passionate, beautiful lyrics sung in a soulful voice, backed by crisp acoustic guitar arrangements that took me on an emotional roller-coaster ride (I know, kind of sounds like a wine steward describing a fine Burgundy, right?)” — Kevin Nealon in Spin MagazineThe fabled singer-songwriter returns to the Alberta Rose, once again supported by the wonderful Jean Rohe. Tim O’Brien with Jan Fabricius

Born in Wheeling, West Virginia in 1954, Grammy winning singer songwriter and multi- instrumentalist Tim O’Brien grew up singing in church and in school. After seeing Doc Watson on TV, became a lifelong devotee of old time and bluegrass music. Tim started touring nationally in 1978 with Colorado bluegrass band Hot Rize. His songs “Walk the Way the Wind Blows” and “Untold Stories” were bluegrass hits for Hot Rize, and country hits for Kathy Mattea. Soon more artists like Nickel Creek, Garth Brooks, and The Dixie Chicks covered his songs. Over the years, Tim has collaborated with his sister Mollie O’Brien, songwriter Darrell Scott, and noted old time musician Dirk Powell, as well as with Steve Earle, Mark Knopfler, Dan Auerbach and Sturgill Simpson. Living in Nashville since 1996, O’Brien’s skills on guitar, mandolin, fiddle, and banjo make him an in demand session player. He tours throughout the US and abroad, most often with his partner Jan Fabricius on mandolin and vocals. His regular band includes Fabricius along with Mike Bub (bass) and Shad Cobb (fiddle). The International Bluegrass Music Association awarded him song of the year in 2006 and named him best male vocalist in 1993 and 2006. He was inducted into the West Virginia Music Hall of Fame in 2013. $30 Advance$40 At the Door Minors ok when accompanied by a parent or guardian. Review our Health & Safety Policies HERE
